Every Saturday year-round. No reservations required.  Every last Saturday of the month we travel further afield than normal and return a little later.  Bird Walk locations are determined on the morning of the walk.All ages and birding abilities are welcome!

binoculars and child The local birding scene has focused on Teller Pond #5 this week because of all the interesting gulls that have shown up there. So we ended up there as well this morning. The Bird of the Day image this morning was taken with my phone through my spotting scope.

Lesser Black-Backed Gull

We had some great looks at Thayer's Gull also this morning and many of us learned how to tell a first winter Thayer's from a first winter herring gull. Still, the lesser black-backed got my vote for Bird of the Day. Check out the range maps for lesser black-backed on the links below.
