Could every day be a Viennese Waltz? When getting dressed for a particular event....or for just out and about, it's usually a matter of considering short or long, dress or pant, color or style. With planning for waltzing at a gala the exception, just how do your clothes appear daily when you move in them? Our Ambassador's Guild members gave some perfect answers to that question during the latest DWB Salon Series post-lecture style show. We're sure your wardrobe wasn't what your physician had in mind when urging you to keep on moving, but DWB thinks it's something to consider!!

Paris Fashion Week Fall Season 2015
Alber Elbaz has headed the Paris fashion house of Lanvin since 2001. An Israeli fashion designer born in Casablanca, he evokes his Moroccan heritage with caftans, braids, and flowing but utilitarian fabrics for the Fall season.
"I want to see BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, not beautiful clothes..."
- Alber Elbaz
"His ultimate ambition, the driver behind his creative strength, to create the ultimate gift: a dress that enables the lady wearing it to fall in love."
Click HERE to see the movement, passion, and energy unleashed by his creativity for Fall 2015. Swoon worthy, some say.....

Something Old That's Always New:
White & Blue
DWB has an array of this versatile favorite - temple jars, ginger jars, garden seats, vases and tea caddies. "Chinoiserie in general doesn't have to cost a fortune to work its magic," says Upper Level Estate Sales Galleries manager, Rebecca Goldthwaite. "You can amass a heftier grouping of modern, off-the-shelf pieces before an Asian-inspired gold-gilt mirror to achieve drama and an English house upscale look."

Happenstance in the Galleries
One day last week we received this large-scale oil painting of the aircraft carrier Valley Forge from a consignor. It was painted by Stan Stokes - one of the foremost aviation artists in the U.S (who has also painted murals for NASA and the Ronald Reagan Library, among others). About ten people were in the gallery as it was unpacked and placed in an easel for study, when one man stepped forward all of a sudden and exclaimed "I served on that ship!"
Well, everyone in the gallery almost fell over....and Gallery Manager Rebecca Goldthwaite wished DWB had a stock of wine and champagne to serve a toast to serviceman Ron Schram and his wife, Marge. We were all so excited by the "cosmic" nature of this encounter....and have been delighted to learn more about the Schrams and their link to the history of the ship. The painting is now available for purchase and resides in a specially-staged "Man Room" - a fit environment for this impressive work.
