Artist's Work in Major Museums, Including the Metropolitan,
the Whitney and The Ringling
"The Angel", a large, bravura oil on canvas, is one of the finest offerings available for purchase through Designing Women Boutique. By renowned New York artist and Sarasota winter resident, Jon Corbino, it was painted between 1936 -1938, and was inspired by the angel ornaments that annually decorate the Metropolitan Museum of Art's holiday tree.
Style and content inflect Corbino's love of grand religious themes as well as his masterly handling of the Baroque techniques of smoldering sfumato, dramatic color contrasts and figural twists and turns.

Kurt Larisch, "T-57", detail

|
|
Kurt Larisch's "T-57" is a sleek rendering of the artist's recurrent theme of aimless, bustling bureaucrats dwarfed by an imposing superstructure, in this case a cone. You can read more about the artist Here.
We have two stunning works by Larisch and a dozen more by other collectible artists. Don't miss this opportunity to acquire any of several gallery-quality works at below gallery prices.

This delightful trio of ladies with chapeaux appears in "The Colors of Spring" by Louise Lauzon. In addition to our art, for the lover of colorful retro we have two Stakmore chairs with 1950's mustard yellow vinyl seats and caned backing, in great condition. And, a Coronet bridge set in red vinyl. The vintage Coronet ads tout their chairs as folding "with the flick of a finger". Their joints may not be what they used to be but then again, for some of us - none of ours are!
