The Bible says: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou may prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers" (3 John 2). If it is God's will for us to be healthy, why then do millions of Americans suffer from diabetes, heart disease, obesity, cancer, and so many autoimmune diseases? Could it be that most Americans lack the basic understanding on how to prevent disease in the first place?
This week I want to educate you in some simple steps you can take to avoid disease and live a healthy life. I call it Lifestyle Medicine. After reading this week's newsletter, make sure to watch Dr. McDougall's presentation "Diet vs. Drugs" and my presentation "Health and Healing for You and Your Children" (links below). 1. Start the day with a super breakfast drink in your Vita-Mix. Add apple, banana, orange, or whatever fruit you like, a handful of kale, chard, or spinach, a tablespoon of organic flaxseed oil, one scoop of SuperManna, a few ice cubes (or frozen fruit), apple juice, and blend on high. You can also add some pumpkin, sunflower seeds, or almonds for healthy protein and fats.
2. Eat a whole plant food diet with lots of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. Eat rainbows. The color of plants have healing power. The red pigment in tomatoes known as lycopene can help preventing prostate cancer. There are over 500 carotenoids in a tomato and over 500 phytochemicals in ginger.
3. Avoid animal foods. Animal food is high in protein and fat food that increases one's chance of getting cancer and and heart disease. Animal food is void of all fiber and therefore a major cause of colorectal cancer. 4. Avoid all dairy products. Dairy is liquid meat. Milk is the number-one cause of childhood anemia and allergies. The late Dr. Vigil Hulse, author of "Mad Cows and Milkgate," told me as a Milk and Dairy inspector for 13 years in California, he found over 80% of the dairy cattle herds had leukemia and 50% had bovine AIDS. Mad Cow Disease has been found in Washington and California. Did you know that the government checks only .1 percent of the cows in the U.S. for Mad Cow Disease? 6. Avoid refined white sugar, white flour, and white salt. Use Celtic Salt or equivalent because they contain all the minerals from the ocean instead of just sodium and chloride. Celtic salt can actually lower blood pressure because it contains magnesium.
7. Avoid artificial sweeteners like Nutrasweet can cause lesions in the brain, MS symptoms, diabetes, and painful joints. Learn to eat food as God gave it in the garden. Aspartame is a deadly excitotoxin just like MSG. 8. Exercise daily. I enjoy racquetball and weightlifting. This gives me the combination of aerobic exercise for circulation and anaerobic exercise for bone density, strength, and toning the muscles. Exercise is wonderful for fighting depression. 9. Increase your consumption of pure water. Drink 6 to 8 glasses a day or more depending on your size and weight. Avoid chlorine and fluoride. They can cause cancer, hypothyroidism, and other complications. 10. Start drinking fresh organic juices everyday. A combination of carrot, apple, celery, cucumber, and parsley, and lemon is a tasty immune-building combo that is high in potassium and phytochemicals. Green juice combinations are becoming very popular these days and easy to make. 11. Cleanse your elimination organs on a seasonal basis. Cleanse the colon, liver, kidneys, lung, blood, lymph and skin two to four times a year. I recommend Modern Manna's 10-Day Detoxification Super Program. 12. Breathe deeply several times a day and get lots of fresh air. Walking in the open air is healthy and refreshing. It electrifies the blood. 13. Get 30 minutes of sunshine every day if possible, but do not burn. The best times are before 11 AM or after 4 PM. 30 minutes to the back and 30 minutes to the front.
14. Have a positive attitude. Toxic emotions like anger and bitterness will weaken your immunity faster than junk food. Memorize scripture.
15. Trust in God, spend time in prayer, and study your Bible every day. Prayer is the key in the hand of faith that unlocks Heaven's storehouse. Ask for fresh supplies of grace everyday. Communion with God is a healer. 16. Love your enemies and forgive those who have wronged you. Remember, forgiveness is the key to freedom. Forgiveness does not set the other person free, it sets you free from bitterness!
I pray you prosper and be in health, Danny Vierra
