The Natural Hygiene Revolution arose as a reform out of the standard medical practice of the early 1800's. The whole medical system was in a state of chaos. The time was ripe for a change.  

   "Hygiene is that branch of biology which investigates the conditions upon which health and life depend, and the means by which they are sustained in their virtue and purity" (Dr. Herbert Shelton).
    "Pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine power--these are the true remedies. Every person should have a knowledge of nature's remedial agencies and how to apply them. It is essential both to understand the principles involved in the treatment of the sick and to have a practical training that will enable one rightly to use this knowledge" (Ellen G. White).
    The messenger of the Lord wrote a lot about natural hygiene. She wrote about hygienic food (AH 501), hygienic cooking (CME 36), hygienic restaurants (CME 21), hygienic cooking schools (CTBH 119), hygienic dressmaking (CG 357), hygienic measures (CH 376), hygienic living (CD 296), hygienic reform (CTBH 56), hygienic practice (CH 247), hygienic treatment (CH 171), and hygienic institutions (CH 255).
   "Canvassers should be able to give instruction in regard to the treatment of the sick. They should learn the simple methods of hygienic treatment. (CEv 18). "Depend more upon hygienic agencies; then nature will respond to God's physicians--pure air, pure water, proper exercise, and a clear conscience" (CCh 105).
     On many occasions, Ellen White spoke about the impurities of the body, and the need for the use of simple and natural hygienic remedies to cleanse the system. "The impurities of the body, if not allowed to escape, are taken back into the blood and forced upon the internal organs. Nature, to relieve herself of poisonous impurities, makes an effort to free the system. This effort produces fevers and what is termed disease. But even then, if those who are afflicted would assist nature in her efforts by the use of pure, soft water, much suffering would be prevented. But many, instead of doing this, and seeking to remove the poisonous matter from the system, take a more deadly poison into the system, to remove a poison already there" (CH, p. 61).
     "Shall physicians continue to resort to drugs, which leave a deadly evil in the system, destroying that life which Christ came to restore? Christ's remedies cleanse the system. But Satan has tempted man to introduce into the system that which weakens the human machinery, clogging and destroying the fine, beautiful arrangements of God. The drugs administered to the sick do not restore, but destroy. Drugs never cure. Instead, they place in the system seeds which bear a very bitter harvest (The Place of Herbs in Rational Therapy, p. 144)

FUNDAMENTALS OF NATURAL HYGIENE COURSE

1. Fundamentals of Natural Hygiene is a Prerequisite Course for the Natural Hygiene Coach Certification. A diploma is issued upon successful completion of course exams with accuracy of 85% or better.

This training series consists of 10 components (includes 16 DVDs and required resource books) covering a broad spectrum on health and nutrition, disease, its causes, prevention and cure. Exclusive presentations on video by Charlotte Gerson, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Russell Blaylock, Dr. Neal Barnard, and Danny Vierra, CNC. Graduates gain the foundation necessary for successful understanding of the purpose and function of natural hygiene and its practical application.
