The MTH Young Investigator Award

The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation is excited to announce Peter Lewis PhD, as the recipient of the 2014 MTH Young Investigator award. This award is made possible by the  MTH Foundation. The MTH Foundation was named after Mary Terese Heitzman who passed away from neuroendocrine cancer. Mary was a world class runner, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with an interest in education. Her interest in education has established the framework for the MTH Young Investigator Award.

"The Board of the MTH Foundation is very pleased to continue our partnership with the CFCF.  We are delighted to support Dr. Lewis and our hope is that having more outstanding investigators committed to this research will hasten the day when a cure for neuroendocrine cancer is found."

-Abigail Psychogeos, Board of Directors, MTH

This award will support Dr. Lewis as he establishes his own lab at the new Wisconsin Institute for Discovery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on epigenetics. With support from the MTH Foundation, CFCF is proud to be funding a project that will enable Dr. Lewis to reinforce his lab's commitment to neuroendocrine cancer research.
