As yet another year comes to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for an amazing year here at MilitaryByOwner.com. We appreciate the loyalty you have shown to us by returning to our site year after year, to advertise your homes or to find military housing near your next duty station.
You continue to spread the word to your friends and your feedback about how we can enhance your experience is what drives us to continue to improve our site. Without our customers, we would not exist, so thank you for another wonderful year and may the holiday season be one of joy and celebration.
Our thoughts are always with our military members and their families, but particularly at this time of year as this is a difficult time to be separated.

Creative Marketing for Your Military House
While the real estate market has experienced a recent uptick, home prices are still not where they were during the real estate boom. Many military homeowners may still find themselves under water on their mortgages, which poses the question of whether to sell at a loss or turn your home into an income-producing asset?
If you have decided that the best option is to lease your home, you will need to market your home to potential tenants. With the insurgence of the Internet and marketing websites such as MilitaryByOwner.com, marketing your home is inexpensive and easier than ever.
Think Outside the Box
Before you purchase an ad package or print out flyers, it is important to turn the tables and think like a renter. What information did you seek when searching for the home you purchased? It is likely that the information you sought will be the same information that will be important to tenants.

VA Loan: A Quick Guide
By Karina Gafford
MilitaryByOwner Staff Writer
What is It?
A VA loan is a mortgage backed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It began as a means of providing housing assistance to military families in 1944. The loan provides for the purchase of a primary residence only, and it is funded by private lenders, but the VA makes up the deficiency payment when a borrower defaults.
How Do I Qualify for the Loan?
Offering one of the most attractive loan products, the VA loan belongs only to a small, selective group- veterans and their surviving spouses, providing the latter has not remarried. The loan is available to current Active Duty, Reservists, and Retired servicemembers.

How Do Military Families Handle Long-Distance Holidays?
Elizabeth Jones
via PCS-Lodging.com
Although the Christmas season is meant for spending time with family members, many military families remain separated from their loved ones during the holidays.
For Ron and Marcia Brower, sharing the holiday season with their service member son, Kyle, means sending a care package of candy bars, Oreos and various toiletries overseas, according to The Southampton Press.
"It's the first time since he was born that we won't spend Christmas and Thanksgiving together," Brower told the news source.
The Browers are not alone. Florida resident Andrea Kemp told The Seminole Chronicle that her Christmas wish this year is a phone call with her son, Phillip Elliott, who is currently stationed in Afghanistan.

Testimonial
Within 2 hours of putting my ad up (and it didn't even have all the pictures posted) - I had my first solid lead. Within 2 days, I had three good candidates. I have now found a renter and today received the security deposit.
This all happened before my signs arrived.
