Historic Preservation in the Tri-Cities Area

Efforts for historical preservation in the Tri-Cities was evaluated by The Cameron Foundation and key stakeholders using a survey modeled after the National Trust for Historic Preservation assessment. Highlights of findings include:
  • 91% of stakeholders report preserving historic resources for the future is an asset for community develop.
  • 98% of stakeholders report historic preservation can revitalize downtown
  • 85% Restoration of historic churches and religious buildings is important for historic preservation in the Tri-Cities area
  • Major barriers are seen as cost of projects, lack of funding available, and limited access to lending.
