Collaboration provides local opportunity to area students
Manufacturing Institute's DreamItDoIt (DIDIVA) is a program that helps our emerging workforce understand career pathways to jobs in the area by providing experiential learning, field trips to area employers and a final day of competition. This is made possible through the collaborative efforts of several groups including the Virginia Industry Foundation, local educational institutions, and area business partners. Over twenty five companies contributed materials, funds, and people to this effort spearheaded by the Hopewell-Prince George Chamber of Commerce, the first DIDIVA Network Partner for the Crater Region.
The recent DreamItDoIt camp served a cross section of students from Hopewell, Prince George, Chesterfield and Sussex. The winning "Blue Team"of three students, consisted of two Hopewell and one Prince George student. To view photos of the camp visit ITAC, the camp host location. There will be a presentation about the camp at the Hopewell Rotary meeting today, August 6, at noon at the American Legion.
