2013 Amazing Raise: News, Events &
August 1st Deadline to Participate

Amazing Raise 5K

2013 Amazing Raise kicks off in less than two months  beginning 6am on September 18th and wrapping up at 6pm September 19th. Be sure to familiarize yourself with these new 2013 prizes: Go Viral Video, Spirit of Giving Video, Procrastinator's, Go the Distance, and for our smaller nonprofits out there, Grow the Grassroots. Also new this year, is a post-raise 5K run/walk the evening of September 19th - an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the generous spirit of giving.             Only organizations with complete and up-to-date portraits on GiveRichmond/GiveSouthsideVA are eligible. Make sure your nonprofit is eligible
to participate in the 2013 Amazing Raise.
Be sure to submit your new portrait or annual update (based on your organization's fiscal year) before the August 1st deadline! 
Nonprofit Microlender Kiva Launches in Richmond Region
A partnership between Kiva, United Virginia, Capital One and other area organizations including Chesterfield-based BizWorks Enterprise Center, provides crowdfunded loans to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. For United Virginia, Southside Virgina areas of Petersburg, South Boston and Martinsville, in addition to Richmond-East are key areas of focus. Capital One announced during the launch event that it will match the first $25,000 in loans to local businesses as part of a $500,000 pledge to match Kiva loans around the country.
