Economic Success for Chesterfield County

In 2012, Chesterfield County saw numerous successes in economic development expansions and new operations that have or will create more than 400 new jobs. These projects include:
- New Capital One data center, a $175 million investment, creating 50 jobs
- Sabra Dipping Co. "Center of Excellence" expansion, a $28 million investment, creating 90 jobs
- Uptown Ally entertainment center, $21 million investment, creating 140 new jobs and expected to generate $8 million in taxable sales
- Honeywell expansion, a $27.5 million investment, creating 50 jobs

Amazing Raise: Success Strategies

Last year, over $1.2 million dollars in unrestricted funds were donated to in over 15,000 unique gifts to local nonprofits through the Amazing Raise.

Get the most out of this year's Amazing Raise by attending the 2013 Strategies for Success. Attendees will:
  • Hear success stories from the 2012 Amazing Raise
  • Learn donor engagement strategies to use this year
  • Get tips on how to prepare the most informative Give portrait
  • Gain an overview of eligibility criteria, rules and prizes!

Sussex Housing Event
June is "Homeownership Month" in Sussex County and this year's theme, "Building a Better Community - One Home, One Student, One Business at a Time" is all about strengthening partnerships and teamwork to support future economic growth. Special guest, Neal Barber of Housing Virginia, will present at this free event on June 19th at 2pm. Seating is limited, please call to register at (804) 834-1302.
