2013 Legislative Session Set to Convene 
On Wednesday, the Virginia legislature convenes in Richmond and will meet for eight weeks to review nearly 400 proposed measures including many that will affect nonprofits. You can stay informed and get involved through the group, Nonprofit Virginia, formed, "to provide a strong, energetic, and coordinated voice for nonprofit, community-serving organizations across the Commonwealth." Alliance for Justice also provides a Checklist for a New Legislative Assembly.  
ConnectSouthside Transitions to ConnectVA
Over the coming weeks, Southside Community Partners is transitioning ConnectSouthside with ConnectRichmond to ConnectVA, Central Virginia's nonprofit and civic hub. Beginning January 28th, ConnectVA will publish a regional Weekly Update while Southside Community Partners will continue to publish weekly news and information providing you with a Southside focus. Southside Community Partners is also updating its website which will launch this month!
