Local Program Introduces Preschoolers to STEM
This week, two preschools in the Tri-Cities will benefit from an innovative program that teaches science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to young children through the arts. Made possible by Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and Northrop Grumman Foundation, only ten cities in the US were selected to participate in this unique learning experience. The Hopewell and Prince George preschools were identified through their strong commitment to Smart-Beginnings Hopewell-Prince George's standards for quality early childhood care and education. Early Childhood STEM Learning Through the Arts is a national program providing in-classroom residencies; professional development for administrators, teachers & specialists; and family involvement workshops for parents & caregivers.
