September 2013

Hello, fellow alums!
The picture above shows our current soccer team in prayer before the recent alumni game.  I'm grateful to be a part of a school where prayer is important- where affinities are celebrated and gifts and abilities of all are appreciated.

I hope you all received the 2013-2014 Alumni postcard in the mail last month (if not, please let me know, and I'll be happy to send you one).  We are excited to continue offering events to connect MCC alumni families and friends, and have added a few new opportunities for you.

A big thank you goes out to our Alumni Association Advisory Council - we met the end of August to discuss the upcoming year and how we can better serve all of you. For the list of current council members, go to http://www.mccks.edu/alumni-association/council-members.  In January 2014 we will be saying goodbye to three members, and adding several more.  If you are interested in being a member of our advisory council and live in a place where you could make it on campus a couple of times each year for meetings, please let me know.   We'd love to have you!

2013 Alumni
Cookie Welcome

MCC's 2nd annual Alumni Cookie Welcome was great as alums Natalie Holdren '92, Deb Kluttz '99, Isaac Wilson '13, and Craig Patrick '06 welcomed new and returning students and families to dorm move-in day with cookies and coolers of bottled water.  Way to share the love, alums.  You are appreciated!

2013 Alumni Soccer, Volleyball, and Baseball Games - fun for all!

As hot as the Aug. 30 and 31 temps were in Manhattan this year, our alumni games were hotter!
21 soccer alums, 7 volleyball alums,  9 baseball alums, and many family members joined us for fun and fellowship on the fields, court, and in the Campus Center this year.  Winners of the "alums who traveled the farthest" were Travis and Meghan Clark-Roseville, CA, Jordan Murphy-Edmond, OK, Ellie Stutzman-Omaha, NE, and Ben Cook-La Quinta, CA.
