"Legacy" Newsletter                                                                                    November 2012

Dear friends,

Fall is here (believe me, the leaves have fallen with a vengeance in my yard)!  It's been a busy few months - Alumni ballgames, Leadership Breakfast, Golf Tournament, Crusader Connection, MCC NOW Alumni Campaign, and the unveiling of our new Alumni Awards.
Be sure to check out our website and/or facebook alumni page for info and lots of fun event pics. (www.mccks.edu, Manhattan Christian College Alumni on facebook)
Here's to you - your family, community, and those you do life with.  I pray that Christ permeates your walk, your talk, and your thoughts.  May your life be a continual offering of His love, grace, mercy, and encouragement.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Blessings,
Genae Denver

  October Crusader Connection Event

On October 18, MCC hosted an alumni Crusader Connection event at Cedar Ridge Christian Church in Lenexa for all Kansas City area alumni and former students.
We had a great time complete with snacks, and Pres. Ingram and several from our Alumni Advisory Council were there to share updates and excitement about moving forward as MCC Alumni. Fun MCC prizes were given out, and 2012 Alum Kirsten Morrison won a sweatshirt for turning in her event survey.

Thanks to all who attended - we appreciate you!
Fall Sports Update

If you were an MCC athlete, you understand the thrill of competition.  As Christians, we strive to represent Christ in the way we compete (and cheer on our favorite teams).
Our Fall sports teams did well this year, and learned a lot along the way.  Our men's soccer, women's volleyball, and men and women's cross country teams all made it to their respective national competitions.  Men's soccer placed 3rd, women's volleyball placed 7th, men's cross country placed 3rd, and women's cross country placed 4th.  We are proud of their accomplishments.
Please pray that all of our student athletes will continue growing in their faith and share the beauty of Christ as they compete.

Feature Senior
Jacob Long

 Hometown: Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Degree Major: Youth Ministry

Future Goals: To obtain a position in youth ministry using my developed skills to minister to college-age, high school, and middle school young adults.  I'd love to lead them to a relationship with Jesus Christ or help further develop their relationship with HIm.

How has MCC changed your life? From the caring teachers who personally want to see me succeed to meeting my future wife, MCC has an atmosphere of compassion and kindness that makes me strive to better myself academically, as a leader, and spiritually.
