They're back!

That's right - the MCC Campus went from calm to crazy during the middle of August: students (and parents) were all over!  The activities of move in weekend were terrific, including the annual faculty-staff/student softball game and opening worship celebration held at Forum Hall in the KSU Union.  We have a great group of new freshman, as well as returning students.  Please pray for all of them to seek the Lord for His will in their lives.  

 

On Friday, August 17, the Alumni Association sponsored

a "New Student Cookie Welcome", and several dozen cookies were enjoyed by families as they were moving students into the dorms.  Two members of our Alumni Advisory Council (Deb Kluttz ('99) and Holly Elsey ('06)) helped at Kenoyer Hall, and they did a great job welcoming the new families and sharing cookies.  Thanks, ladies!

 

Thanks to those of you who gave to our 2011 MCC NOW Alumni Campaign, we were able to purchase new welcome banners for MCC.  We now have several banners that say WELCOME, ALUMNI, and STUDENTS. They can be put up in different locations around campus to enhance whatever event we are holding.  We have had lots of positive comments from people about the banners, as they are bright, easy to read, and eye-catching.

On Thursday, August 23, all 10 members of the new Alumni Association Advisory Council met at MCC for a day of planning and sharing ideas.

Plans are being made for more regional alumni events, as well as alumni awards, possible alumni mission trips, and other beneficial ideas put into action. 

Please let the Alumni Relations office know if you are interested in serving your alma mater by being a part of our MCC Alumni Advisory Council.

Friday, August 24 started off very soggy.  Much needed rain had come to the Manhattan area, and while we were thankful, we wondered if our annual alumni soccer games would have to be cancelled.  By noon it was decided: move the games to Old Stadium at KSU and let the playing commence!

Thanks so much to all the alums and former students who came out to play and support Crusader athletics - it was great enjoying an evening of soccer and good fellowship time!
