Dear friends,

Happy Fall!  What a great time of year as the weather starts to cool down and yellows, reds, and oranges begin to color the beauty of God's creation!
God continues to be glorified and praised at MCC.  We're firmly into the Fall semester as mid-term tests have been given.  Dorm pranks have begun, and Barn Party 2011 is coming soon.  We have had tremendous chapels where testimonies of changed lives and calls to serve have been passionate.
For those of you who were able to attend our 2011 Leadership Breakfast and/or Golf Tournament - we appreciate you and pray those events were a blessing to you!

As always, we ask for your prayers and continued relationships.  Please send in updates (weddings, new babies, moves, job changes, etc.) and consider making MCC one of your missions to give to if you haven't already.

Blessings for a wonderful season of thanksgiving!

Alumni Soccer/Baseball
Games abaseball hit!

Friday, Aug. 26 and Saturday, Aug. 27 were fun days as the Alumni Soccer and Baseball games took place in Manhattan.

The alumni soccer men and women played hard (the women came out winners!) and both games were great.  The first alumni baseball game was also very fun and worthwhile as guys came as far away as Austin, Texas to play (thanks, Kevin!).
Thanks to ALL of the players and fans alike who made the weekend terrific!
Check out pictures of the games at

MCC Signage soon a reality!!!
The 2010 MCC NOW Alumni Campaign was extremely successful as many of you gave to our proposed project of highway signage for Manhattan Christian College.  Over the past several months, we have been in regular contact with the city and state, and the powers-that-be ultimately decided that MCC signage will be in conjunction with KSU and Manhattan Area Tech College.  We have been told that the signage should be in place by December 1, and we are looking forward to that happening!
Signage Placement:
1 sign on Hwy 24 NW of Manhattan
2 signs on Sethchilds Rd coming in from north
1 sign on Ft Riley Blvd - exit onto 17th St
1 sign on K-177 coming into SE part of Manhattan
1 sign on Tuttle Creek Blvd - the main thoroughfare area just south of the Bluemont Ave. intersection
1 sign on Poyntz Ave NE (goes into E Hwy 24)

All alumni and students (with updated addresses in our system) will be receiving a letter in the mail soon sharing about our new 2011 MCC NOW Alumni Campaign Project.  Your prayers and help for these projects is truly amazing and we are so grateful for your partnership with your alma mater!
Go, Crusaders!  Let's get the word out and bring others with us into the Kingdom!

Leadership Breakfast and Golf Tournament Recap
And So It Begins!
The 2011-2012 MCC school year is under way.  Enrollment is up from last year to 384 students. Besides our traditional student degree programs and LEAD degree completion program, we are in the 2nd year of our online degree programs, and currently have 17 students enrolled.
Please pray for our current students - that they will be focused with their studies and intentional about their spiritual growth.  Pray for our faculty/staff to be difference-makers as they strive to "Educate, Equip, and Enrich Christian Leaders."
God gets the glory! stu
Ron Ratliff attends Institute in England

Ron Ratliff (in jeans), reference librarian and adjunct professor at MCC, took a trip to England from July 23-Aug. 5 to attend Oxbridge 2011: The CS Lewis Summer Institute.  While he was there, Ron was part of an academic round table and read a paper that he wrote entitled "GK Chesterton's Influence on CS Lewis' Conversion", which was one of 24 papers selected from around the world. One of Ron's trip highlights was spending 3 hours with his friend Walter Hooper, CS Lewis' literary secretary the last year of Lewis' life.  We are excited to have a CS Lewis authority right here on our campus!
Leadership Breakfast and Golf Tournament: God is good!
The MCC Cafeteria was filled to capacity for the 9th annual Leadership Breakfast "The Man in the Mirror" on Sept. 22.  Speaker Jim Prentice gave practical truths about being a man or woman of God in a world of fast-paced business.

The week ended with the 12th annual MCC Golf Tournament at Colbert Hills on Sept. 23.  Nearly 120 golfers played in fantastic weather and enjoyed the comraderie and course.
