May/June 2010

Dear Friends,

Happy June!  For those of you in youth ministry, your lives are pretty hectic right now - Hang in there!

What excites and motivates you?  Does knowing Jesus make your life worth living?  Do you think very often about being in eternity with an amazing, perfect, loving God?

Colossians 3:1
"Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your minds on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God."

Good reminder, huh!  Keep serving our King of Kings, and know we here at MCC are praying for you as ambassadors of our Savior, no matter what your occupation is!!!

MCC wins NCCAA II President's Cup
cru 2nd President's Cup for MCC!

The MCC athletic program has earned the President's Cup from the NCCAA for the second consecutive season.  The President's Cup is awarded to the institution that earns the most points, and points are earned based upon a team's finish in an NCCAA National Championship.  MCC had five sports qualify for National Tournament play in 2009-2010, and based upon the finishes of the teams we earned 36 points, outdistancing Clearwater Christian College from Florida who finished second with 28 points. (most recently, our men's baseball team finished 3rd at Nationals)

On another note, the 2009-2010 women's basketball team recently received the Scholar Team Award from the NCCAA.  The qualifying GPA average for this award is 3.4, and our ladies averaged a 3.61 GPA.  Congratulations to Coach Olson and our women's basketball team!

We are super proud of our MCC athletes and their accomplishments on the field/court and in the classroom, but most importantly we pray that God will be glorified with their lives as men and women who seek to honor Him!  Please pray for them as well!

How did MCC make a difference in your life?
My time at MCC helped me develop my faith for my own.  It was a safe place for me to figure out areas of my life and give me some direction with purpose.  Family aside, my roommates are still my best life-long friends and we still meet annually to "encourage on another all the more as we see The Day approaching".  It's these types of relationships that I want people around me to also experience!

How did MCC make a difference in your life?
MCC provided an amazing opportunity for me to continue a college education that I started 17 years ago.  The Administration and faculty at MCC will forever have a special place in my heart!  I am now a college graduate, and most importantly I learned a great deal about spiritual leadership which I can use with my family, church, community and workplace.  The lessons I learned and the growth I experienced in my years at MCC finishing my degree will add to the foundations of my life and career.
