Kerusso Dayz Spring 2009!!!
KD spring 2009
This Spring Break, 4 teams participated in Kerusso Dayz, a week where students use their free time to serve the Lord.  Teams were sent to Chicago, IL, Joplin, MO, Bridge, TX, and Rocky Point, Mexico.  Much of the service was manual labor - helping with buildings in disrepair or needing to be built from the ground up!  There was also some time for relationships to be made with kids in the areas, and adults that worked at each mission they went to.

How has MCC made a difference in your life?
MCC has shown me love and encouragement from all different spectrums - from the professors and faculty members that have meant so much to me to all the great friendships that I have built over the years.  I have learned so much and I am excited to apply it to my life outside of MCC.
Dear MCC alums and friends,

We are into the home stretch for the 2008-2009 school year.  God has blessed and continues to bless MCC.  We are reminded every day - God is in control and will accomplish His purposes, sometimes in spite of us!  We praise and thank Him for all of you and your interest in knowing about, praying for, and supporting our purposes here.
Let's praise the risen Christ together this Spring!
MCC basketball - what a great year!!!
men's b-ball 2009It's a good time to be a Crusader!  Both our men's and women's teams captured  their conference titles as well as the regional titles and went to their national tournaments in Springfield, MO and Grayson, KY, respectively.  The women fought hard in 3 games and had a great time playing and bonding.  The men went 2-1 at Nationals and came away with a 3rd place finish - the highest in school history.  Congratulations to Shawn Condra, men's coach, and Larry Olsen, girl's coach, on jobs well done.  Both of these coaches are great examples of Jesus on and off the court!  Way to go!!!

What do you enjoy most about MCC?
I have been blessed to work with people who are dedicated to use their knowledge and gifts to invest in student's lives.  I also love the students God has sent to MCC, and I find it rewarding to walk with them through their years at the school.  Put those two aspects together, along with the fact that I thoroughly enjoy literature and writing, and it's a win/win situation!

How did MCC make a difference in your life?
MCC totally helped change my life since I had only accepted Christ 4 weeks before school started in the Fall of 1993.  MCC gave me an opportunity to be around and be influenced by Christians as well as learn the Bible from educated Christians.  I went to MCC largely on an invitation from Jeremy Eubanks and Justin Moxley to play basketball at a Bible college instead of ESU.  I had never heard of a Bible college before!  To this day MCC is the place that shaped my faith, made it possible to do ministry, and live in an environment where I was able to stay on fire for the Lord after my dramatic conversion experience.

For Alums - Loan Payment Help
Darci Webster, our MCC financial aid counselor, has given some great tips - please read!

Feeling the pinch of the economy?  Having trouble making that student loan payment every month?  There's good news regarding student loans.  Contact your lender immediately about a different repayment option.  From an economic hardship deferment or forbearance (for problems only lasting a few months), to a new repayment plan like the income-contingent or income-based, there are many options for those experiencing difficult financial situations.  Please do not procrastinate as lenders can garnish wages, income tax returns, and social security benefits.  For more information, go to http://www.finaid.org/loans/troublerepayingdebt.phtml
