Santa Rosa Junior College High School Concurrent Enrollment Update
It's not too late to have students submit their concurrent enrollment forms for summer! The April 29th deadline was a soft deadline, put in place in order to allow for enough processing time before priority registration starts this Friday. However, students can be assured that our Admissions & Records offices will continue to accept and process forms through the start of the Summer 2016 term. Of course, it is in the students (and your) best interest to get their forms for summer AND fall completed and turned in prior to the end of the school year so that appropriate signatures may be obtained from school personnel.
Reminder: High School Concurrent Enrollment students will be able to register during the Priority 6 registration period each semester. SRJC is one of a few California Community College to grant priority registration for high school concurrent enrollment students and hopes this new feature will provide current high school students with better opportunities to enroll in courses they desire.

Consumer Tip-Be Skeptical of Aid Guarantees
You receive a notice in the mail that "guarantees" financial aid for your graduating high school student. In exchange for an advance fee, scholarships, grants and fantastic financial aid packages are yours for the taking. Is this perfect timing?
With tuition bills skyrocketing and room-and-board costs going through the roof, students and their families are looking for creative ways to fund a college education. While there are companies that provide lists of scholarships for an advance fee, no legitimate company will guarantee or promise scholarships or grants.
Be wary of companies that offer a money-back guarantee but attach conditions that make it impossible to get a refund. Often "success stories" may be nothing more than paid testimonials. Steer clear of high-pressure salespersons who say you can't get their information anywhere else or that you must act and pay immediately or risk losing the "opportunity."
Check with you high school counseling office for a list of scholarships, grants and aid that match the student's profile and qualifications. College or career school financial aid offices may also be a good source of information, including websites to assist you in your financial aid search.
More information is available through the Marin County district attorney's consumer protection unit at 473-6495 or through its website at www.co.marin.ca.us/da
