 		Reg2015 Student Registration
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! Novato High School will be holding the Student Registration on
Wednesday, August 12, 2015 for all 10th-12th graders, and on Thursday, August 13, 2015, for all 9th graders.

Registration for both days will be in the Gordon Gym. Students must attend and parents are welcome to join them. Please plan to arrive at the scheduled time for the appropriate grade level. Students will not be admitted

 

inside the Gordon Gym for registration unless they bring:  

 

  1. Two completed Emergency Cards or the completed Verification of Contact information form (both included in NHS summer packet)
  2. Completed NUSD Acknowledgement of Parent Guardian Annual Rights Notification form
  3. Completed Technology, Network & Internet Services Student Acceptable Use Policy form
  4. Payment of any unpaid debts such as fees resulting from lost textbooks, library books or athletic equipment

Registration Schedule:

10:00AM         Sophomores

1:00PM            Juniors            

2:30PM            Seniors

 

August 13, 2015

1:00PM            Freshmen

 

What happens at Registration?

 

Students:

  • Pick up class schedules.
  • School ID/yearbook photos will be taken and students should come dressed appropriately.
  • Purchase ASB membership, yearbook and planner.
  • Become a member of PTSA - Reminder: Seniors must be a member to be eligible for the PTSA scholarship.
  • Freshmen will participate in Freshmen Orientation with Link Crew on August 13, 2015, from 9:00AM-1:00PM in the Gordon Gym before starting registration in the afternoon.

Parents:

  • Parents are welcome to attend registration with their students.
  • There will be a separate meeting for incoming Freshman parents in the Café from 9:00-9:30AM. Registration for Freshmen begins at 1:00PM in the Gordon Gym.
  • Information regarding PTSA, MSA, AVID, Academic Boosters, Leadership Team, ELAC, JROTC and booster groups will be available. (Please join these outstanding groups that work so hard to support our students!)
  • Turn in your PTSA forms including membership, escrip, directory information, etc. at the PTSA table.

The Novato High School staff looks forward to meeting you on August 12th and August 13th!

ORDER YOUR NOVATO HGH DIRECTORY!
We are happy to offer our NHS community the option of purchasing the Novato High School Directory again this year. The directory includes student and parent names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and important school and booster contact information.
PLEASE NOTE: Inclusion in the directory is optional, based solely on how your NUSD Release of Information form is completed. The contact information included in the directory is the information provided to Novato High School through AERIES and/or the emergency contact forms. 
One copy of the directory is included with your PTSA membership.  If you would like to order additional copies, or order a directory without joining PTSA, the cost of the Directory is $10.00.   Directories will be delivered to your student at school.  Please complete the attached form and either return with your payment along with your other PTSA forms on registration day or drop it off in the NHS office.

CASSPP Testing Results and Student Score Reports

The California Department of Education has indicated that the testing results from last year's California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing will be released in late August.  This is later than expected and NUSD will provide the information to parents as soon as it is received.

Message from Marin Schools Superintendent:
Marin County Social Host Ordinance
As we prepare for a new school year, the County of Marin and the County Office of Education want to encourage all school and parent organizations to share the attached information concerning the Marin County Social Host Ordinance.  This law is an effort to reduce youth access to alcohol in private homes and includes consequences for homeowners who host social events where under-aged youth are drinking alcohol - whether or not adults are present.

NHS Field Advertising Opportunities!
Would you or your employer like to advertise on the NHS field this school year? If so, we have just the opportunity to do so! Does your student enjoy participating in the Homecoming Parade or the Homecoming Dance? Maybe your senior will find himself or herself on the Homecoming Court this year? Without a football team and games to play, these Homecoming activities might not happen. The NHS Football team has the biggest fundraising challenge annually of all NHS sports due to the high cost of safe equipment. Support the football team or make a donation honoring one of the players so that the football program may continue to thrive at Novato High School!
