Football Scholarships: If you are a football player or parent of one, please read below:

My name is Spencer Crum, President of the North Bay Officials Organization (aka football refs). I know it is a bit late but this year we are still going to offer our annual scholarships to graduating football players as weve done since 2004. The due date is extended to June 1st at 5:00 PM. We will try and award the scholarship by June 10th.

Please consider any graduating senior who has played varsity football and has shown good sportsmanship both on and off the field and encourage them to apply for our scholarship. We generally give out about five $500 scholarships and only have about 15 applicants.

If you have any questions please call the scholarsihp coordinator, Jason Castro at 707-583-4561. You are receiving this email because you are listed as a football contact in our database. If you'd like to be removed send me an email and I'd be happy to remove your information.

Thanks for your time,

Spencer Crum

LAX Girls Report:

Another exciting week for Novato Girls Lacrosse.  First the girls traveled to NCS powerhouse California High in San Ramon and battled it out in what was a truly epic game.  Thanks to a perfectly executed stall and then goal by Jill Wiedner, Novato went up by one point with 25 seconds left.  Then, although Novato had dominated the draw the entire game, a determined California player grabbed the draw and scored for the tie with just a few seconds on the clock.  That sent the game into overtime.  The first overtime was a back and forth that ended with Novato down one and Charlie Rudy scoring off a pass from Allie Level as the buzzer went off.  In the second overtime, which was sudden death, California took the game by one point, but both teams had some heroic moments, and that is exactly the type of game Novato wants to play as we head into MCAL and NCS playoffs.  The top five or six teams in the region are very strong and evenly matched.  Novato has come out on top of several of those match-ups, and is currently ranked 3rd in the state by Laxpower, but every game is a new battle at that level...anyone's game.

Next, on Thursday the team beat MCAL rival Redwood 17-2 and finished on top of the MCAL regular season (undefeated).  This week is huge because the girls will be playing in the MCAL semis (against Marin Catholic!!!) and, if all goes well, the finals on Friday (against Redwood or University).

Please come out and support this team!  The MCAL semis will be at Novato at 4pm Thursday afternoon. Marin Catholic is our toughest MCAL rival so PLEASE COME CHEER US ON!

The finals, if we win on Thursday, will be Friday evening at 5:30 at Drake High School  (if times change we will send something out).

Thank you for your support! And GO HORNETS!

PE WAIVERS
This is a quick note from our Registrar Jeanie Olian. Any ATHLETE that still needs a PE waiver from Previous years, must take care of those waivers immediately. They will need to be sure to get an "old form" from her in order to do so. Next year, NO ONE will be able to apply previous sports to the current year. Please be sure to see her if you have any questions.

Go Hornets!!
