Over Drake - 16 to 2
Tuesday, the Hornets travelled down to Drake for a MCAL match-up. The team was balanced on offense and a number of our younger players saw action and the back of the net.
Will Doodokyan, Dante Sabatella, Connor Figone, and Peter Gamble with 1 goal each. Defensemen, Greg Carroll, took it to the net with a transition goal as well.
Seniors, Greg Siefkas and Henry Dalton, each turned in a hat trick. Quinn McKone and Chase Rudy were distributing the ball on offense with a total of 9 assists and 4 goals.
Ben stepped into the cage for the second half, but not before tallying 2 goals himself. Jeremy Sison continued to dominate on the face-offs with a perfect 17 for 17.
10-9 win over Acalanes
Thursday was a non-conference win over 2014 NCS finalist. Novato came out quick with 2 goals forcing a time-out by Acalanes. Ben Putman took his first start in the cage and turned in an athletic performance with 9 saves. The defense was solid with Greg Carroll, Richie Galagarin, and Matt Jackson holding off a strong Don's offense and supporting Ben between the pipes. The offense put on quite show with McKone/Rudy connecting on a number of assisted goals. It was fun to watch with Chase tallying 3 and 3 and McKone with 4 and 5 (goals/assists). Notable offensive play was turned in by Peter Gamble who put one in the net as well as assisting a goal and scooping a number of key ground balls. Greg Siefkas and Connor Figone each with a pair goals rounded out the offense. Jeremy Sison's consistency at the face was a huge part of the victory. All and all, just an awesome team win for the Hornet boys.
Granite Bay outplays Novato, 18-10
Saturday the Hornets matched up against #4 NCS Granite Bay. We held on pretty well, but were shorthanded on Defense for the day. Good work by Daniel MacDonald as the extra D-pole. Ben Putman, Jeremy Sison, and Spencer Harkin all took a turn in the cage. Stand out play came from our attackman, Chase Rudy, with 4 goals and 2 assists. Ben Putman followed up with 3 goals and 1 assist in his 2nd half of field play. Jack Talbot, Connor Figone, and Greg Siefkas each added 1 goal while Quinn McKone helped out with 4 assists.
