Chinese Premier Congratulates Tu Youyou on Winning Nobel Prize for Medicine

Premier Li Keqiang on Monday congratulated herbal expert Tu Youyou on winning the 2015 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, the first Chinese woman national to win a Nobel prize in science. Tu, born in 1930, shared the prize with Irish-born William Campbell and Japan's Satoshi Omura for her discoveries concerning a novel therapy against malaria.

China to Speed Up Charging Network for Green Cars

The State Council issued "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Construction" Sunday, to accelerate the deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. It confirmed plans to speed up construction of a national network to charge electric cars so as to reach its goal of seeing five million electric cars hit the roads by 2020.

China Launches Commercial Remote-Sensing Satellites

China launched a group of four satellites on Wednesday at noon for commercial remote-sensing services, an important step in the development of remote-sensing space technology. The "Jilin-1" satellites, launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gansu Province, include one optical remote-sensing satellite, two satellites for video imaging and another for imaging technique testing, according to an announcement from the launch center.
