U.S. Businesses Lobby Obama on China Tech Protectionism Concerns
 
American business groups are lobbying U.S. President Barack Obama to press Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on technology protectionism concerns during Xi's upcoming U.S. visit, according to a letter addressed to Obama seen by Reuters. In the letter dated Aug. 11, 19 U.S. business lobbies prodded Obama to raise the issues faced by the information and communications technology (ICT) sector.

China Considers Merger of Top Shipping Companies
 
A possible merger of China's two largest shipping lines by revenue, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Co and China Shipping (Group) Co, was reported by Ship.sh, a Shanghai-based shipping industry news website. The suggestion of the merger, and other State-owned firms' marriages to follow boosted capital markets, with stocks rising 4.92 percent on the Shanghai bourse on Monday.

China Remains World's Largest Robot Market
 
China becomes the world's largest robot market for two consecutive years, according to data issued by China Robot Industry Alliance (CRIA) on Thursday. In 2014, the sales of robots in the Chinese market accounts for one fourth of world's total and reached 57,000 units, increasing by 54.6 percent on a comparable basis.
