China's Xi Highlights "Big Picture" in Reform Drive

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday called on officials to view the country's reform drive in the context of "a larger picture" in order to deepen reforms. An overall plan to promote innovation in reform in selected regions was adopted at the meeting. Members of the leading group also agreed that authorities must place scientific and technological innovation at the heart of the drive.

Xi's Visit to Russia to Focus on Energy Cooperation

President Xi Jinping of China will visit Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus from May 7-12. While in Russia, he will attend a summit meeting on May 8 to involve discussions on bilateral cooperation for high-speed rail, infrastructure and aerospace, the Shanghai-based National Business Daily reports.

AVIC and Shanghai Stock Exchange Sign Deal to Support Expansion of AVIC's Military Companies

The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and the Shanghai Stock Exchange have signed an agreement to support the corporate expansion of AVIC's military subsidiaries. According to a corporation statement, the deal will enable AVIC's military companies to gain access to financial support in efforts to promote their listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
