Fisher Congressional Geoscience Fellow spends 12 months in Washington working as a staff member in the office of a member of Congress or a congressional committee. Harvard University Charles Bullard Fellowship in Forest Research 02/01/2015 $40,000 The fellowship program supports advanced research and study by individuals who show promise of making an important contribution, either as scholars or administrators, to forestry and forest-related subjects including biology, earth sciences, economics, politics, administration, philosophy, humanities, the arts, or law. Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation Harry Frank Guggenheim Dissertation Fellowships 02/01/2015 These fellowships of $20,000 each are designed to contribute to the support of the doctoral candidate to enable him or her to complete the thesis in a timely manner and are only appropriate for students approaching the final year of their Ph.D. work. This fellowship is not for support of doctoral research. Questions that interest the foundation concern violence and aggression in relation to social change, intergroup conflict, war, terrorism, crime, and family relationships, among other subjects. Dissertations with no relevance to understanding human violence and aggression will not be supported. Priority will also be given to areas and methodologies not receiving adequate attention and support from other funding sources. More information

Orville Schell Center for International Human Rights Bernstein Fellowships 02/02/2015 $44,000 The Robert L. Bernstein Fellowships in International Human Rights enable two Yale Law School graduating students or recent graduates to devote a year to full-time human rights work. Only graduating students or recent graduates (within the last five years) of Yale Law School are eligible for the Bernstein Fellowships. Applicants are encouraged to develop their project proposals in cooperation with appropriate organizations, but independent projects will also be considered. Getty Foundation Multicultural Undergraduate Summer Internship Program 02/03/2015 $4,000 The Getty offers summer internships at the Getty Center and the Getty Villa to undergraduates of culturally diverse backgrounds. Candidates are sought from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous commitment to the visual arts. Internships provide training and work experience in areas such as conservation, library collections, publications, museum education, curatorship, grants administration, public programs, site operations, and information technology. Center for California Studies, Sacramento State University Judicial Administration Fellowship Program 02/09/2015 $2,250 per month, plus benefits, tuition to CSUS paid The Judicial Administration Fellowship Program is open to all people with a college degree, including recent graduates and mid-career applicants. It is expected that applicants will demonstrate an interest in the judicial system and issues concerning the administration of justice in California courts. Ten fellows are accepted into the 11-month program which begins in September. The fellowship program is both academic and professional. Upon acceptance into the program, fellows will be enrolled as graduate students in Public Administration at Sacramento State, and attend regularly scheduled academic seminars. University of California Humanities Research Institute Multicampus Faculty Working Groups 02/11/2015 $15,000 Working Groups are designed to catalyze collaboration between scholars from different disciplines and UC campuses around a specific problem, theme, object or topic. A Working Group may consist of 5 to 15 individuals who will collaborate over one academic year to address a clearly-defined and timely issue or the early stages of research on an emergent topic in the humanities. Members of a Working Group will be expected to be connected virtually for ongoing communication, and meet face-to-face at least two times throughout the year. Successful proposals will include faculty from at least two but preferably three or more UC campuses, and clearly explain how the theme and activities will contribute to research excellence in the humanities. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Fellowship Program 02/15/2015 $5,985 plus travel Graduate students and researchers from a variety of fields who share a common interest in the nonlinear dynamics of rotating, stratified fluids share an intense ten-week research experience, and vigorous discussions of concepts that span different disciplines. Fellows pursue a research project under the supervision of the staff and present a lecture and a written report for a proceedings volume. 02/15/2015 DAAD offers grants for one to three months in all academic disciplines to scholars at US and Canadian institutions of higher education to pursue research at universities, libraries, archives, institutes or laboratories in Germany. The aim of this particular program is to support short-term research stays and thus promote the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues. Grants are awarded for research projects and cannot be used for travel only. Airfare to Germany will not be covered and lecture tours, attendance at conferences or conventions, editorial meetings or extended guest professorships are not funded. More information
American-Scandinavian Foundation Visiting Lectureships 02/15/2015 $25,000 The ASF invites U.S. colleges and universities to apply for funding to host a visiting lecturer from Norway or Sweden. Lectureships should be in the area of contemporary studies with an emphasis on one of five areas: public policy, conflict resolution, environmental studies, multiculturalism, and health care. Fisher, President of Resources for the Future (RFF) from 1959-1974, RFF awards fellowships in support of doctoral dissertation research on issues related to the environment, natural resources or energy. RFF's primary reserach disciplines are economics and other social sciences. Proposals originating in these fields will have the greatest likelihood of success. Spofford, Jr. Memorial Internship 02/20/2015 $375 per week for graduates, $350 per week for undergraduates RFF is offering a paid internship for graduate students with a special interest in Chinese environmental issues to spend time at RFF in Washington, DC. Krutilla Research Stipend 02/20/2015 $5,500 The Krutilla Research Stipend is intended for young scholars who have a recently awarded doctoral degree (that is, no more than 5 years beyond receipt of the Ph.D.). White Postdoctoral Fellowship Program 02/21/2015 Varies The fellowships are intended for researchers who have a doctorate degree, and wish to devote a year to scholarly work in areas related to natural resources, energy, or the environment. Social scientists as well as natural scientists interested in policy-relevant interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply.
