Xi Jinping Urges Development of Military Equipment Systems

Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), addresses a meeting of the armament work of the People's Liberation Army, which was held in Beijing, China, from Dec. 3 to 4, 2014. Xi said advanced weaponry is the embodiment of a modern army and a crucial support for national security and rejuvenation. The building of equipment systems should be information-led and pay great attention to weapon quality.

New Rocket on Drawing Board

China is conducting preliminary research on a super-heavy launch vehicle that will be used in its manned missions to the moon. Long March-9 is expected to raise the nation's capability for space expeditions.
