14 Departments Jointly Issued a Document to Implement the "Broadband China" 2014 Special Action

14部门联合发文实施"宽带中国"2014专项行动

To expedite the implementation of the "'Broadband China' Strategy and Implementation Plan" and further strengthen the construction of information infrastructure, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology along with other 13 ministries/departments jointly announced views on implementing "Broadband China" 2014 Special Action. The main guiding objectives for 2014 under this plan include covering 30 million households under FTTH and building 300,000 new TD-LTE base stations.

China's independently-developed Beidou differential navigation satellite system, the Beidou Radio Beacon-Differential Beidou Navigation Satellite System(RBN-DBDS), has achieved a positioning accuracy within one meter, a major breakthrough in marine application, local authorities said Friday.

China Debuts First Terahertz Scanner for Security Checks

China's first terahertz security scanner debuted at the ninth China International Defense Electronics Exhibition. It was independently developed and manufactured by the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, one of China's defense industry giants. The scanners are expected to be put into mass use in 2015 in public places such as airports, train stations, stadiums and foreign embassies.
