China's New Spaceport to Launch Country's Largest Rocket Yet

 

China's huge new rocket is headed toward its maiden flight from the country's soon-to-be-complete, brand new launch center on Hainan Island. The combination of the planned rocket, called the Long March 5 and its derivatives, China's new sprawling spaceport, underscores the country's shifting space gears.

China's Most Advanced Research Vessel Starts First Expedition

 

China's most sophisticated research vessel-named Kexue, or Science-left for the west Pacific on Tuesday afternoon from the eastern port city of Qingdao, beginning its first ocean expedition.Its research will focus on the Pacific currents, regional climate and deep-sea ecology.
