On Monday, December 7th, Vivien gave her Reading Recommendations to Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) International Society for Key Women Educators at Rainy Day Books. Vivien was honored with a bouquet of Red Roses and a Picture Framed Proclamation commemorating the Forty Reasons Beta Omega Loves Rainy Day Books and what Vivien and our Staff give to DKG Beta Omega Chapter, and our Community. Vivien has given her Reading Recommendations to DKG Beta Omega Chapter of Olathe, Kansas each Year for more than 20 Years! Vivien & Rainy Day Books just celebrated 40 Years as Independent Booksellers on November 04, 2015! DKG & Rainy Day Books are bright, healthy & strong! On Wednesday, December 9th, Karl Rove did a SOLD OUT Meet & Greet Booksigning for his New Hardcover The Triumph of William McKinley: Why the Election of 1896 Still Matters at Rainy Day Books. Karl was challenged by Flight delays out of Chicago, but he did finally arrive at 8:20 PM for our 7:00 PM Author Event. Karl's avid fans who decided to wait to meet him were very happy that they had their Books Author Autographed and posed for photos with him. The guests who had waited were also so pleased that due to the delay, Karl decided to discuss with them his New Book about the 1896 Presidential Election, and answered a few questions about the current Election process. Following the Booksigning, Karl sat down for an in-depth interview with Steve Kraske of The Kansas City Star and Up To Date on KCUR 89.3 FM NPR.
