Greetings! And Thank you!

Greetings everyone,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the MLNNA elections - the strategic planning team, nomination committee, candidates, and voters!  What a wonderful sign that we are indeed Breathing New Life into our Marianist Charism and that the enthusiasm from this Summer's Lay Assembly is going strong.

Let us all thank Rudy Reyes and his leadership team for their efforts in advancing our Lay Marianist organization and mission.  Thanks to Tony Fitzgerald who worked with Rudy and so many others to create the Strategic Plan and to put a Transition Plan together.  Thanks to Kate, Mallory, and Matt for saying "Yes" to being a part of the new MLNNA Leadership team.

On behalf of the newly elected leadership team, I thank you for your confidence, encouragement, and support.  We humbly accept this responsibility to serve you and make the strategic vision of the MLNNA a reality.

This month will be very busy as we transition.  We have meetings scheduled for the teams to exchange information and "pass the baton."   We will be filling out the other positions listed in the leadership model.   And in the next couple of months, we will be laying out our plan for the 2015 and the rest of our term to address the items in the strategic plan.

Thank you for your continuing support.   Please pray for us that the Holy Spirit will guide us to serve you.   Please consider volunteering to help with an activity in the near future.  And please prayerfully consider supporting the MLNNA financially when you receive our annual campaign letter soon.

May God continue to bless us and may our Blessed Mother guide us as we continue to Breathe New Life into our Charism.

Peace, Blessings, and Joy,

Mike Wasno

Marianist World Day of Prayer
Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima
Villa Soltadi, Buenos Aires, Argentina

The Marianist Family around the world celebrates October 12 as Marianist World Day of Prayer. It is a time for us all to be in solidarity with one another as we celebrate our Marianist vocation, whether lay or religious. Each year features a country to inspire us and to hold in prayer. This year we recall our Marianist Family in Argentina.

Winter Marianist Online Courses (Virtual Learning Courses)

October 26 - November 29 2014

As Thanksgiving approaches we often find ourselves reflecting on all we are grateful for while looking outside of ourselves to see where we can share some of our blessings. Marianist Studies: Prayer and Marianist Studies: Social Justice welcome you to pray together or explore ways to take action while we gather in virtual learning communities.

Each 5-week course runs from October 26 - November 29 2014.
Registration is available now to October 22.

Marianist Studies: Prayer explores various methods or practices of individual or group prayer as we gratefully acknowledge the presence of the Spirit of God in our lives.

Marianist Studies: Social Justice remembers the wisdom of Blessed Chaminade as we share insights about responding to the world's needs within the realities of modern life.

Please go to https://vlc.udayton.edu/register/ to register for these courses.

The cost for each course is $40.00. (Choose North American Center for Marianist Studies in the diocese/partner section of the registration form for this price).
