 | I added some sightseeing to the last assembly I attended! |
WHY I AM GOING TO THE ASSEMBLY ... AND YOU SHOULD TOO!
When I think of once-in-a-lifetime events (births, weddings, graduations, etc.), I think of events that I moved heaven and earth to attend. I would delay a vacation -- or even cancel it; I would take time off of work; I would save up the necessary monies to get myself there. We do these things because these events are historic. They're monumental. They're life changing. It isn't a stretch to say this is true of this summer's MLNNA Assembly. Here are a few of the many reasons why I'll be at the 2014 MLNNA Assembly ... and you should be too:
- The Assembly is the culmination of months of engagement with Marianist laity throughout the country. COME SHARE YOUR STORY!
- The Assembly will give direction to our organization of Marianist Lay Communities for the future. COME LEND YOUR VOICE TO THE FUTURE!
- The Assembly will provide opportunities to engage other Marianist laity and religious from across the country in prayer and conversation. COME DEEPEN YOUR COMMITMENT TO OUR MARIANIST LIFE!
- The Assembly will give each of us a chance bring our individual story to the larger Marianist family, breathing new life into our Marianist Charism together. COME BE A PART OF THE MARAINIST MOVEMENT!
For nearly a year, an extended committee of more than two dozen have been working diligently to prepare for our arrival and to give us and our organization of Marianist Lay Communities a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I'll be there. We hope to see you there too! REGISTER TODAY: www.marianist.com/assembly Easter Joy! (for another month!) Rudy Reyes, Jr. President |
Register Now!
Register Now! And make your travel arrangements!
While it's not a hard deadline, the sooner we know how many people to anticipate we can start finalizing plans for housing and meals!
The Assembly starts on Thursday evening, July 24th and concludes with Mass on Sunday July 27th. It will be held at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX.
Make it your summer vacation!
Make it your personal retreat!
Make it your community's retreat! We encourage as many people as possible from all communities to attend! If not all can make it, consider offering to financially support one of your members to be able to attend on your community's behalf. There will be plenty to bring back to share with your members! Financial assistance is also available.
This only happens every 3-4 years. If you don't attend now, it will be a few years before it happens again! Join Marianists from all over the country! Make new friends and reunite with old ones!

Mobilizing Laity for a Movement
Many thanks to all who participated in conversations concerning the the Marianist Lay Network. Through the appreciative inquiry interviews and many conversations since, the strategic planning committee is preparing to share its recommendations. A draft of a strategic plan will be made available online prior to the Assembly in July and a session will be held during the Assembly to discuss the future of Marianist Laity in the United States.
Focus areas include: Invitation to the Marianist Family, Formation in the Charism, Support/Resources, Call to Mission, and the lay Leadership Structure.
Watch future newsletters for more information. Plan to attend the Assembly to join in the dialogue about Marianist laity.

Coworkers in God's Vineyard As laity we have our own vocations. But for some among us, the calling to something deeper and more intentional is very real. Read more about the happenings of the Dayton Vocation Animation Committee in its May newsletter!
