Greetings Art Lovers:
What a great year! We are proud of all Arts Mid-Hudson has accomplished during 2015 with the help of our great staff and board, members, volunteers, and sponsors. As we look ahead to 2016, we thank you for your participation and support, and ask that you consider a year-end gift for the arts.
Celebrating the new year is on everyone's mind this week and there are many options for everyone's taste. Check out the highlighted selections below. We also noted that on New Year's Eve in Kingston, there is an old-fashioned ball drop, marching band, street performers and fireworks at the corner of Wall Street and N. Front Street - free and open to the public.
In the village of Millbrook, the Rotary Club once again presents a family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration beginning at 4:00 p.m. including the Bindlestiff Cirkus and a line-up of amazing performers; marionettes, klezmer music, a variety show and musicologist Peter Muir playing exquisite piano renditions of Rag, Blues, and Jazz. The celebration continues until 8:00 p.m. - just in time to get the kiddies to bed on time.
In Woodstock, the Bearsville Theatre presents their New Year's Eve celebration with Simi Stone and the soulful Eric Redd.
The Resolution New Year's Eve event hosted by poet/performer Decora in Newburgh will be a spectacular performance and celebration to bring in the New Year.
New Year's Day in Beacon head over to Quinn's for the Beacon Music Factory annual music blowout featuring Linda Ronstadt's Heart Like a Wheel album performed by the amazing Kelly Ellenwood - 3:00 p.m. onward with other special guests - RSVP.

This silent film is an artistic rendering of a dark morality tale. The story is told within flashbacks-a pretty complex story structure for 1921. The silent films in Rosendale's series are enhanced by the piano of Marta Waterman.
