Greetings Art Lovers:

We are counting down to the final two weeks of 2015. As we look back on all the arts and cultural programs we have led or participated, we feel happy to have been of service. Did you know we are a membership organization and member dollars go towards continuing the art programs, festivals, events - even this newsletter! If you are able to give towards our regional arts and culture, whether it is a membership, volunteering, or a year-end donation, we would be grateful.

And now to look at the region's arts and cultural events, beginning on Friday night when the Pawling Concert Series presents New York Polyphony. Praised for a "rich, natural sound that's larger and more complex than the sum of its parts" (National Public Radio), New York Polyphony is regarded as one of the finest vocal chamber ensembles in the world. 8:00 p.m.

It's Queen City Arts Weekend and the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center is hopping! Big Gay Hudson Valley presents two holiday events: on Friday, Lettuce Rejoice, and on Saturday, a holiday burlesque, Hung with Care.

On Sunday, two performances at the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center by the Hudson Valley Saxophone Orchestra performing their 4th annual Christmas Concert - 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. See you there!

Sunday afternoon at the Moviehouse in Millerton attend the Bolshoi Ballet's Nutcracker. Ensure a relaxing afternoon by pre-ordering a boxed lunch - a perfect afternoon at the ballet.

We have enjoyed the steady stream of shoppers at our Dutchess Handmade Pop up shop. Come by and see the immense talent of our artist neighbors and shop local. We are
open late on Tuesday, December 22nd for your convenience, and 9:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday (December 24th) for last minute shoppers.

Speaking of shopping local, there are many pop up holiday shops across the region - here are a few that we know of for your last minute shopping:
The Byrdcliffe Shop - Woodstock
Sunflower Arts Studio PopUp - Gardiner
Art for the Holidays at the ArtBar - Kingston
Joy to the World Holiday Show - Hyde Park
Holiday Market at the Gallery at Eastern Hay - Pawling
Tivoli Artists Gallery Holiday Show - Tivoli

Call for community volunteers: Arts Mid-Hudson is strongly committed to creating a diverse and welcoming environment for Grant Review Panels. In a continuing effort to reflect the communities we serve, we invite you to recommend panelists to serve in reviewing grants across Dutchess, Orange and Ulster Counties. We welcome community members of diverse artistic, administrative and cultural backgrounds. Our next panel meetings will be in late January. Individuals may also nominate themselves. For more info: grants@artsmidhudson.org.

Save the Date:
December 28: Cocoon Theatre's Masquerade Ball
January 2: Kakizome: First Writing of the Year
January 9: Asian Influence: art opening at Arts Mid-Hudson

Our friends at Ashworth Creative have sponsored a way to give back to your favorite charity. Post images of what you are thankful for through tweets, facebook posts, or other social media tagged with #HVThankful - all will be put into a drawing and the winner can select their favorite charity for the donation prize of $2,000. We hope it's Arts Mid-Hudson, but giving thanks for all we have here in our Hudson Valley makes sense to us!

Best wishes for an art-filled week!
