Greetings Art Lovers:

The Dutchess County Executive's Arts Awards is next Wednesday, October 7th - there is still time to buy a ticket and celebrate the artists, arts and business organizations that make Dutchess County a great place to live. We have been overwhelmed with gratitude with the outpouring of auction items from our community that will be featured at the arts awards - the auction raises money that goes toward services Arts Mid-Hudson provides throughout Dutchess County, including the re-granting of more than $100,000 in funding for the arts that is reinvested back into our community. Can't attend? You can submit absentee bids

There is lots to do this weekend - check out the events highlighted below and click on more to see details, as well as more event listings!

This weekend is the Rhinebeck Arts Festival, a unique mix of 200 artists whose extraordinary skill and vision help make this one of the region's most anticipated yearly events. Enjoy live music, interactive art experiences, craft demonstrations, family activities, gourmet specialty foods and more.

Also this week in Woodstock, the Woodstock Film Festival begins - check out the schedule and pick your favorites!

Sunday in Phoenicia, Flying Cat Music Presents an evening of folk songs and guitar with  Scottish songwriter Archie Fisher and Canadian songwriter Garnet Rogers. Doors open at  7:00 p.m., save $3. with an RSVP to flyingcatmusic@gmail.com - event at the Empire State Railway Museum.

Fall is grant season and Arts Mid-Hudson has a full listing of opportunities and workshops to apply for arts and cultural funds for your project.

Coming up - let's save the date:
October 9-11: O+ Festival, Kingston
October 16: Pawling Concert Series with Sons of Serendip
October 16-25: Cocoon Theatre Beckett Festival, Poughkeepsie

Best wishes for an art-filled week!
