Greetings Art Lovers:
The 29th Annual Dutchess County Executive's Arts Awards are coming up October 7 - did you know that your support through tickets and the auction helps Arts Mid-Hudson provide the services we do throughout Dutchess County? This work includes the regranting of over $100,000 in funding for the arts that is reinvested back into our community. Come out and be part of the fun and feel great about supporting the arts. A big shout out this week to one of our major sponsors, MidHudson Regional Hospital. Check the webpage for awardees, tickets, and a sneak peak of our fabulous auction!

Before the weekend starts we have openings! Mary Flad's woven tapestries are featured in a one-person exhibit at the Orange Regional Medical Center gallery through October 30, opens with a weaving demonstration by the artist and refreshments on Thursday, September 17, noon - 2:00 p.m.

On now at Shadowland Theatre, the Drama Desk Award-winning musical by one of Broadway's hottest composers follows the lives of two 20-something New Yorkers over a five year relationship. Performances through September 27 - get your tickets now.

It's Queen City Arts Weekend! Check out some of the events happening in Poughkeepsie listed below or see the calendar for a full listing - of special note this weekend is the Cunneen Hackett Brewfest on Saturday, 1-5 p.m..

Saturday in Rhinebeck, the Betsy Jacaruso Gallery features an opening reception for guest artist, Paola Bari, 5-7:00 p.m.

This Sunday, WPWL premieres 'The Bet' on Theatre Hour with a wine and cheese gathering at 5 p.m. Roger Hendricks Simon, long time theatre and film professional who voiced The Boss will be in the studio: contact WPWL at 845-493-0355 for studio seating. Mr. Simon will also be leading an On Camera Training during Arts Mid-Hudson's Shakespeare events during September and October.

Fall is grant season and Arts Mid-Hudson has a full listing of opportunities and workshops to apply for arts and cultural funds for your project.
