Candidate ForumEvery four years we get a chance to choose who will represent Eagle Rock's interests (along with the rest of Council District 14) on the Los Angeles City Council. This year is one of those years. We have an upcoming election on Tuesday March 3rd and there a several candidates for Council on the ballot. And, like any election, the candidates have diverse positions on different issues, sometimes making it difficult to choose which candidate to vote for. This issue is not unique to our council district. As the
Los Angeles Times recently noted, there is a dearth of candidate debates/forums throughout the city, with Council District 14 being one of the exceptions.
By the time this election is held, the voters of CD 14 (which stretches from downtown to Boyle Heights to Eagle Rock) will have had the opportunity to attend at least five candidate forums/debates. I believe that these type of events give voters the opportunity to hear (and possibly interact) with the candidates directly and to glean important information. TERA believes that you should be given the opportunity to make a more informed decision and, to that end, I am glad to announce that we are sponsoring a candidate forum right here in Eagle Rock. The details:
Council District 14 Candidate Forum
Wednesday, February 25, 2015, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Center for the Arts Eagle Rock
2225 East Colorado Boulevard
Please save the date and plan on attending. It is a great opportunity to see how familiar the candidates are with the issues and challenges that are particular to our Eagle Rock community and how they plan to address them.
