Please remember to pray for The RIDGE Project            March 2015

Greetings Fellow Prayer Warriors,

March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, the old proverb goes, referring to the often turbulent weather at the beginning of the month contrasting with the calmer, more peaceful conditions that sometimes characterize the end of the month.  This dichotomy can also be used to describe the inner conditions which our organization and programs seek to resolve within both individuals and families.  Many times, we are led to families, or they to us, in the midst of struggles, both internal and external.  Their lives may be in shambles due to decisions they've made.  Children or youth may feel abandoned or forgotten.  Selfishness may be running rampant in their personal lives.  Or, they may simply be overcome with hopelessness.

Without intervention, many of these souls will remain lost and broken.  But, God has given us a mission.  He has given us the tools to reach and rescue both individuals and families, and lead them to hope.  He has given us TYRO as the vehicle to take them there.  Our adult programs attack selfishness, build character, renew relationships, and teach families how to communicate and grow, even in the worst times.  Our youth programs promote risk-avoidance behaviors, positive self-image, healthy relationships, and responsibility.  It is through these principles that our program facilitators can lead people down a path of righteous living, thus snatching them from the lion's mouth, and showing them what it means to be washed in the blood of the Lamb.

John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"

Now, let us come together in praise and prayer so that our strength is multiplied. We ask that you prepare your hearts and lift up in prayer those that are in need.

Success Report

The Following is a Recent Testimonial from One of Our TYROs

"When I entered the TYRO program, I had no direction in life. I had a desire to live, but I didn't have the tools to do so. I had a false sense of what a man was and spent most of my adult life inside prison walls.

Mr. Roddy (my facilitator) showed me how to love myself, which in turn has showed me how to love others. He taught me the true meaning of what a man is. Today I'm a father, friend, neighbor - a man of honor and integrity; a man worth following. Without this program there's no doubt I would have been a statistic. Instead, I work full time. I'm a father of 3 and a grandfather as well. I'm a loving husband and provider; not only financially, but emotionally too.

I heard out of my son's mouth something I never thought I would hear - 'Dad, I wanna be just like you!' Today my answer is 'Son, I WANT you to be like me too.'  I made myself transparent and no one can tell my story. That alone has set me free. I now look in the mirror and like the new me.  I am a TYRO."

Please pray they find a good stove/oven for their home. They are excited at seeing how they can have what they need if they have a plan and work toward that plan!

  • Please pray for all of our leaders, including ODRC Director Gary Mohr, Governor Kasich, President Obama, all of our local, state and national elected officials. Also pray for all those serving in our military and police forces, and for all of those in authority that they help us to move forward along the path that God has laid before us.
