     Most pilots are used to the roar of their engine droning out any prospects of holding a conversation without a headset. This constant disturbance makes for a less-than-pleasant flight and often adds physical fatigue from the vibrations during long trips. 
     There is a solution! In recent years we've introduced a product called the Hush Kit, a sound proofing insulation made from Ensolite. This dense closed-cell foam insulation is a game changer when it comes to increasing comfort and ease of installation.
Can't hear yourself think?
    The Hush Kit reduces vibrations and noise by sticking to the skin of the plane and acting as an insulation barrier and sound deadener. Our tests on the kit have shown noise reductions of 4-7 dB (a) range (what you hear)   and 10-15 dB (c) range (what you feel). These reductions took a Cessna 150 made it possible to hold a conversation without the need for a headset.
  The OEM fiberglass insulation is notorious for holding moisture which leads to corrosion on the skin of the plane. In addition to its sound barrier and insulation qualities, closed-cell foam, though possessing a sponge-like feel, will not hold moisture, so no more corrosion worries! 
     A common question with this kit is "how much weight would it add?" The material weighs 3.2 oz. per sq. ft. for a total gain of 5-7 lbs. for the entire aircraft. The Hush Kit meets general aviation flammability requirements under FAR 25.853 (a), Appendix F, Part 1 (a)(1)(ii) and the kit includes the appropriate paperwork.
Installation made easy
     Once your interior trim is out of the way, the Hush Kit is as simple as peel and stick. The self-adhesive pieces come cut to a shape close to an exact fit but whatever trimming that may be necessary can be done with a box knife or good scissors. The pre-cut Hush Kit is available for Cessna: 150/152, 172, 172RG, 177, 177RG, 182; Piper PA-28; and Beech F-33. It is possible to buy the raw material by the linear foot as well.
