Conflict Resolution Quarterly Special Call for Submissions
Averting the Battle?: Conflict Prevention and State-to-State arbitration in the context of International Investments

All articles should include a 100 word abstract, reflect an understanding of previous discussions in the literature on the chosen question (a literature review), and range from 2500 to 7500 words in length. CRQ uses a double-blind peer review process to assure fair and equal access to all authors. The deadline for submissions is January 15th 2016.

ILS and Barcelona Bar Lawyer Exchange Program
The ILS has an agreement with the Barcelona Bar Association to promote firms from either jurisdiction to host young lawyers from the other jurisdiction as law clerks. The City of Miami EB-5 Regional Center Presents its First Hands-on Workshop, "How it All Happens: The EB-5 Project and Foreign Investor Process from Start to Finish," from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the City of Miami City Hall Commission Chambers, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida 33133. 

This is the City of Miami's first workshop in its "how it is done" practical application series.  Watch what happens in the creation of a real USCIS EB-5 project and how investors and project professionals work through the foreign investor visa process.  National expert teams who are integral to any win-win project will come together on project specific panels and take our audience through the steps, to include key areas: legal, business, marketing, raising capital, compliance and investor representation.

Advance registration is mandatory due to occupancy capacity restrictions. Please pre-register via email to tmorales@miamigov.com  no later than Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Please note:  Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Application for Accreditation is in process.

Wilberforce Chambers, in association with Aballi Milne Kalil, P.A. and Mishcon de Reya, presents a seminar to the International Law Section of The Florida Bar, at 1 SE 3rd Avenue, 10th Floor, in Miami. Topics include suing offshore corporations in onshore derivative actions, developments in cross-border insolvency, injunctive relief to support US actions in the Cayman Islands or England, and multi-jurisdictional enforcement and funding strategies. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. with the program ending at 7:00 p.m., followed by a drinks reception. The seminar is free of charge but spaces are limited.

November 1-3, 2015
The 13th annual ICC Miami Conference on International Arbitration will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Brickell Key in Miami, Florida. Under the theme "Tooling up for international arbitration," this conference will address many relevant topics related to the current legal trends in Latin America including arbitration in energy, banking and finance disputes. November 4-6, 2015
The 26th IFFTA (International Forum of Travel and Tourism Advocates) Worldwide Conference will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The venue will be the Law School of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, at Figueroa Alcorta 2263.
