August 7, 2015 - The Miami International Arbitration Society (MIAS) invites you its August  membership meeting at Akerman LLP, One SE Third Avenue, 25th Floor, Miami. This month's meeting will feature C. Ryan Reetz and Pedro Martinez-Fraga, both of the Miami office of Bryan Cave, who will discuss "Regulatory Sovereignty and the Public Purpose Doctrine in International Law." September 14-18, 2015 - The International Arbitration Institute of the University of Miami School of Law presents a practitioners' course, "How to Persuade a Tribunal: The Fundamentals and Advocacy in International Arbitration," in Coral Gables, Florida, led by Professor Jan Paulsson. Attend "The Fundamentals of Arbitration" September 14-16 and "Arbitration Advocacy Training" on September 17-18.

November 4 - 6, 2015 - The 26th IFFTA (International Forum of Travel and Tourism Advocates) Worldwide Conference will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The venue will be the Law School of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, at Figueroa Alcorta 2263. The Conference is sponsored by the Tourism Law Observatory of that law school, a member of the WTO.

Fabian Pal Joins Holland & Knight 

Miami (June 25, 2015) - Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Fabian Pal has joined the firm's Miami office as a member of the firm's International & Cross-Border and Latin America Practice Groups. He previously practiced with Fowler White Burnett.

Mr. Pal concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and international law. He counsels clients with respect to corporate transactions, capital raising, corporate governance and finance, specifically private equity financing. Mr. Pal represents start-up companies, established multinational corporations, family offices and entrepreneurs across a broad range of industries. He has significant experience executing complex and cross-border M&A transactions in Latin America and Europe.


 
Mr. Pal is very involved in the International Law Section of the American Bar Association and co-chaired the section's 2014 Fall meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He currently serves as vice chair of the International M&A Joint Venture committee and the Latin America and Caribbean committee. Mr. Pal is also involved in The Florida Bar, serving on the International Law Section's International Litigation, Arbitration & Transactions Conference steering committee.
