May 4 to 15, 2015 - WIPO-ECUPL Summer School on Intellectual Property, Shanghai, China. This course is intended for senior students (graduate and postgraduate) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline who are already familiar with IP. A certificate of participation is awarded by WIPO to participants who successfully complete the program requirements.

 May 27-30, 2015 - The ILS has planned an exploratory trip to Havana, Cuba. The trip will consist of an outstanding 'people to people' tour approved by the U.S. Government. Although it is focused on lawyers, the itinerary is flexible for non-lawyers, spouses, and significant others who desire to participate. The cost is all-inclusive (air, the best hotel in Cuba, food, transfers, escorted tours in English, entertainment, taxes, visas, meetings with prominent lawyers, etc.). The trip has reached its capacity of 30 people and is now full.

Opportunity to Study LL.M. Program in China

 

The Chinese Government Scholarship - Youth of Excellence Scheme of China is offering an LL.M. Program in International Economic Law, an English-taught law program sponsored by this scholarship targeting at fostering high-level legal talents. The deadline to apply is April 20th, 2015.

 

Once successfully accepted into the program, the student will enjoy:

  • Full scholarships covering the tuition fees
  • Free accommodation
  • Living allowance of US$1300 per month
  • Reimbursement of economy class flight ticket
  • Health Insurance

This LL.M. Program was initiated by the Ministry of Education of China to help realize Chinese government's commitment to fostering talents. The Ministry of Education has selected 6 top universities in China, including the East China University of Political Science and Law (where I attended law school in Shanghai), to hold programs in different areas, so that the students can benefit from the specialty of the university.

 

This year, we are authorized by the Ministry of Education to recommend candidates that:

 

1. By September 1, 2015, should be under the age of 45 years old.

2. Have bachelor's degree or above;

3. Have more than three years working experience in relative fields;

4. Have a good command of English so as to study in the English-taught program;

5. Play the leading role in a department or in doing research.

ILS-Barcelona Bar Lawyer Exchange Opportunity

 

The ILS and the Barcelona Bar have an agreement allowing for a Lawyers Exchange Program. Currently, a Spanish attorney and member of the Barcelona Bar is interested in serving as a law clerk for a firm in Miami.
