The ILQ is currently accepting submissions for its next edition, which will focus on International Construction Litigation and Arbitration. The submission deadline is August 15, 2014. September 2-6, 2014 - The University of Miami School of Law's International Arbitration Institute is hosting a Practitioners' Course on The Fundamentals of International Arbitration and Caribbean Arbitration Trends.

This is an intensive and interactive specialized course led by Professor Jan Paulsson with guest lecturers from the Caribbean, including The Honourable Mr. Justice Jacob Wit of the Caribbean Court of Justice and Mr. Justice Boyd Carey (Ret.) who has served on the Courts of Appeal for Jamaica, The Bahamas and Belize.

November 3-4, 2014 - The ICC invites you to its 12th Annual Miami Conference at the Mandarin Oriental, Brickell Key, Miami. The focus of this year's conference is "Theory, Technique and Practice of Arbitration." An advanced-level training, "Conduct of the Proceedings and Case Mangement - The Arbitrator's Perspective," will be held on November 2, 2014.

Chair-Elect Eduardo Palmer and Quinn Smith Featured in Daily Business Review Articles on Arbitration in Miami

 

The DBR interviewed ILS Chair-Elect Eduardo Palmer for its article, Miami Makes Mark by Hearing Panama Canal Dispute, which was published on July 22, 2014.

 

Quinn Smith also authored the article, Miami Sets Stage as International Arbitration Center, published on July 18, 2014.

Glenn Cooper Named Chair of Foreign Bar Committee

 

Glenn Cooper, Shareholder at GrayRobinson, has accepted the role of Chair of the ILS Foreign Bar Committee in an effort to re-invigorate the relationships the ILS has developed with foreign bars over the years.
