The ABA Section of International Law invites you to a very special 2013 Fall Meeting in London, United Kingdom, October 15-19, 2013. Topics will include forum non conveniens, personal jurisdiction, service of process, cultural and languages barriers, the application of foreign law, and the extraterritorial application of U.S. law.  ICC's Annual Miami conference

 International Commercial Arbitration in Latin America

 

3-5 November, Mandarin Oriental hotel, Miami

  

 ICC's annual Miami conference provides an indispensable update on developments in the region and is the most important gathering for the Latin American arbitration community. Not only does it offer a line-up of top-class speakers, topical discussions and relevant news, but also an excellent opportunity to network. The conference attracts approximately 400 participants representing about 30 nationalities.  Sessions this years will cover the following perspectives : Judicial; Academic; Business; "Public"; "Alternative"; Ethical and Procedural.

 

This year the conference will be preceded by an advanced level training on "drafting enforceable awards" will take place on Sunday 3 November. Focusing on what can be referred to as the most prominent duty of an arbitrator, participants will learn the best practices pertaining to drafting awards and the ways of maximizing their enforceability. Accordingly, the training will focus on the procedural as well as formal requirements, and cover the issue of the necessary substantive accuracy of the award.

The ILS's International Dispute Resolution Roundtable Committee is soliciting program proposals from anyone interested in hosting a Roundtable breakfast or lunch. The Roundtable Committee is organizing several presentations whereby issues related to international disputes will be addressed and teleconference access will be provided.
