The Maryland Economic Development Commission has released its Strategic Plan for Accelerating Economic Development in Maryland.  BioHealth and Life Sciences is listed as one of the targeted growth clusters and industries.  The plan also emphasizes the importance of workforce, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, and other actions to improve the State's business competitiveness and reputation.

Baltimore's Clear Guide Medical receives 510(k) clearance from the FDA to market its innovative Clear Guide SCENERGY clinical device--the first to provide real-time 
CT-Ultrasound fusion for interventional procedures on existing ultrasound machines.

Baltimore's Protenus raises $4M Series A to protect patient privacy on a national scale.

Rockville's 20/20 Gene Systems Inc. raises $4.5M to support it's efforts to customize its proprietary algorithm for blood biomarker testing for cancer for the Chinese market.
