Baltimore's GrayBug, Inc. raises $1.74M from the Maryland Venture Fund, Hatteras Venture Partners and a new investor.  GrayBug previously received a BioMaryland biotechnology development award and the top Invest Maryland Challenge life sciences prize.

Silver Spring's United Therapeutics receives FDA approval for Unituxin (dinutuximab) for the treatment of pediatric high-risk neuroblastoma. 

Germantown's Orgenesis, working to reprogram human liver cells in people with Type 1 diabetes into insulin-producing cells, buys a Belgian cell manufacturer for $25M.

Rockville's Supernus Pharmaceuticals, developing treatments for central nervous system (CNS) diseases, announces strong year end results and progress with product candidates. 

Gaithersburg's Emergent BioSolutions moves forward with MorphoSys on a Phase 1 Clinical Study to evaluate a novel oncology immunotherapeutic for prostate cancer.

Rockville's KeyGene announces expanded plant phenotyping capabilities using high-throughput digital plant imaging technology with trait interpretation. 

Gaithersburg's MedImmune announces a three-year research collaboration to develop new medicines for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and related metabolic disorders.

Baltimore's Noxilizer RTS series NO2 sterilizers have been approved for CE mark under the Medical Device Directive.

Germantown's Intrexon acquires Okanagan Specialty Fruits expanding its ability to use cutting-edge science and fruit breeding to create new products that can benefit consumers.

Baltimore health IT startup Emocha Mobile Health Inc. is taking its medication-tracking mobile app to one of the largest counties in the country - Harris County, Texas.

Leidos Biomedical Research is now a tenant of the Johns Hopkins Montgomery campus with employees working on bioinformatics and genomics activities with nearby NCI.
