Mike Gill, Chairman and Principal of Evergreen Advisors, LLC, has been named
incoming Secretary of Maryland's Department of Business and Economic Dev. (DBED) by Governor Larry Hogan.  The BioMaryland Center is an office within DBED.

Gaithersburg's MedImmune enters a licensing agreement with Omnis Pharma. to develop treatments for liver cancer using oncolytic viruses.

Baltimore's Personal Genome Diagnostics, Inc., a Hopkins spin-out, signs a cancer genomics agreement with Human Longevity, Inc., whose  CEO is J. Craig Venter.

Germantown synthetic biology leader Intrexon announces proposed offering of Common Stock. 

Maryland's National Cancer Institute and MedImmune establish a three-year partnership to develop cancer therapies using the immune system or attack tumor cells to fight the disease. 

Applications for exhibit space in the BioMaryland Pavilion at this year's BIO Int'l Conference in Philadelphia, June 15-18th, are being accepted now, on a first-come, first-served basis through February 6th.  Entrepreneurs seeking other opportunities for visibility in Philadephia also should contact the BioMaryland Center by February 6th.

Clear Guide Medical's Director of Regulatory Affairs Jack Kent and his family with CEO Dorothee Heisenberg at grand opening of new, expanded facilities in Baltimore.  The company's ultrasound tracking device recently has received approvals from both the FDA and Canada.

The Center promotes the state's industry domestically and abroad and also provides business plan assistance, market research databases, site selection information, and other resources.
