Math Integration Fits Well for All Students
Secondary Math Department Announces Big Changes Next Year at CHS & CMS
As a district, we are changing our high school math classes to match an instructional style we've always had in middle school. In the high school, we will now have Integrated Math I, II, and III before students can move into higher mathematics courses. Integrated courses will build on previous learning in all areas of math, creating a more comprehensive understanding of the subject.
Several years after new standards have been implemented, our secondary math team has discovered a fantastic curriculum to use moving forward. Teachers from both CMS and CHS are confident that our students are ready for these new and challenging courses.
With this new curriculum, math in the Coronado Unified School District will see a big evolution. It is an exciting time for secondary math in our district! We couldn't have met the challenges of adopting new standards or progress into our new comprehensive, integrated courses without the dedication of our entire math department.

Many Forms of Communication Used
What's Happening at School? CUSD Keeps Stakeholders in the Loop
From digital to in-person to joining a committee, our communication techniques do it all. We even cover different degrees of involvement. Whether you want to help shape the happenings at schools or just have a few extra reminders about upcoming events, there's an option for you. We provide multiple different ways of communicating with parents that remain up-to-date.
As a district we strive to give parents and community members updates in ways that are convenient to them. In fact, you are currently enjoying one of the ways we keep families informed, the Coronado Communiqué. This is one of the many different online ways we promote information.
Here are our digital avenues:
- Articles in eCoronado and the Eagle & Journal;
- School and district website news blogs;
- School and district social media accounts like Facebook;
- Coronado Communiqué from the Superintendent;
- Email newsletter blasts.
We share a variety of resources and updates such as introducing parents to a new teacher at the school, specifics about an upcoming event, or even detailed information on bigger topics such as a change in board goals.
