Family Fun on March 18 or 19
Show Stopping Performance by CMS Students in Seussical Jr. Promised for Coronado Families
The Cat in the Hat pays a visit to Coronado next week as students perform Seussical Jr. over two days. Horton the Elephant, "Amayzing Mayzie LaBird, Gertrude McFuzz, the Grinch, and Yertle the Turtle will come to life as CMS students sing, dance, and act on stage in the 90-minute production. Over 30 students will be showcased on March 18th at 6:00 PM and again on March 19th at 4:00 PM in the CHS Performing Arts Theatre.
These "Amayzing" lessons are taught by CMS teacher Linda Kullmann in her Advanced Performing Arts class. Last month her talented students competed successfully in a major competition.
"It was a career top-ten moment," said Kullmann as she reflected on that weekend. "I was so proud of each student and their contribution to VAPA. That learning experience is something each student will never forget."
The Seussical Jr. cast will also include CMS Science teacher Kevin Ramirez along with Coronado School Resource Officer Sherri Mannello who will tell the stories of beloved characters introduced to us by Dr. Seuss.

NEW!! VAPA and STEAM After School Classes for All 3rd through 8th Students
Dance, Drama, Game and Animation Design, Strings and Visual Art classes are now being offered for all children in grades 3 through 8. The classes will start after school on the Coronado High School campus beginning April 4th. Classes will cost $195.00 for 16 sessions and will include all supplies. Note: the Strings Class is only 8 sessions.

Coronado SAFE Sponsors Parent Information Night after Sixth Grade Students Attend "Drug Store" Presentation
CMS parents of sixth grade students should plan to attend an important and educational evening of discussion and information on the 6th Grade Drug Store Program provided in partnership with Coronado SAFE. On March 15th, all 6th grade students will experience a series of dramatic presentations and educational scenarios, demonstrations, and lectures in order to raise student awareness of drug and alcohol abuse, its consequences, and prevention.
The evening program is for all 6th grade parents and will focus on risk factors, debunking "normal" vs. "abnormal," addiction, and empowerment. The meeting will begin at 6:30 PM in the CMS Granzer Hall on Tuesday, March 15.
